Relieves Discomfort

  • Sclerotherapy is a treatment for varicose and spider veins where a medication  is injected into the veins, causing them to collapse and fade over time. It’s quick, minimally invasive, and effective.

  • A sclerosing solution is injected into the targeted vein. It irritates the vein’s lining, causing it to collapse. Over time, the vein disappears, improving the skin’s appearance.

    • Non-surgical treatment

    • Minimal discomfort

    • Fast recovery

    • Long-lasting results

  • Most people experience only mild discomfort, similar to a small pinch. Afterward, there may be some bruising or swelling, but it fades quickly.

  • You’ll see some improvement within 3-6 weeks. Full results can take a few months, and you may need more than one session for the best outcome.

  • Most people need 1-3 sessions, depending on the number and size of veins being treated.

  • Side effects are rare but may include bruising, redness, or swelling. These typically go away within a few days or weeks.

  • You can resume normal activities right away but avoid intense exercise for 24-48 hours. Compression stockings may help with recovery.

  • Sclerotherapy is usually not covered by insurance as it’s considered a cosmetic treatment.

  • Sclerotherapy for asymptomatic varicose veins is not covered by Alberta Health.

  • Sclerotherapy is typically recommended for individuals aged 30-60 with varicose veins. However, your suitability for the treatment will be determined by a medical professional.

  • Sclerotherapy is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, or those with a blood clotting disorder. Always consult a specialist to ensure it's safe for you.

  • Skipping treatment might lead to worsening symptoms or health risks such as aching, swelling, heaviness in the legs and untreated veins can lead to complications like blood clots or skin ulcers.

  • Prices start at $300 per session.

  • Yes, a consultation is required to assess your needs and recommend the best treatment for you.

The consultation fee is $100 for new patients.
